ABOUT

In 2002, the Ray of Light Foundation was created in memory of Ray D’Amelio. Our mission is to help provide an outlet for youth in the community to learn about and express themselves through art.

AUCTIONS

The Ray of Light Foundation sponsored two benefit art auctions, in December of 2003 and May of 2006, hosted by Saatchi & Saatchi in New York. Renowned contemporary artists were invited to investigate the concept of light using every medium, from photography to sculpture, and all artwork was generously donated and then auctioned during the event.

In total, we raised nearly $100,000 from both auctions.
All proceeds went to The Harlem School of the Arts.

MENTORSHIPS & INTERNSHIPS

We facilitate numerous paid internships for young artists to work in advertising agencies, other editorial studios and design shops. This enables them to pick up real world skills and interact with professionals in the creative community.

RAY OF LIGHT SCHOLARSHIPS

In 2010, The Ray of Light Foundation began a collaboration with Studio in a School, providing scholarships to New York City high school seniors.
